Great Classes Are Available at 2017 Winter Fire School

Fire service training has always been part of an organized fire department. Early on in Missouri there were very few training opportunities outside of one’s own department. In 1933, Mid-Missouri fire departments joined with the University of Missouri to address the need for more advanced training. Through their efforts the first Missouri Central Fire School was conducted and provided “training that was needed for firefighters to perform their duties safely and efficiently.” From these modest beginnings the University of Missouri took a lead role in training Missouri’s fire and emergency service responders. This training mission has continued for over three quarters of a century at MU FRTI. Help us continue the tradition and fulfill our mission by attending this year's Winter Fire School.
