Following the success of last year’s event, a second Propane Industry Responders’ Conference will be held September 24-25 in Sedalia at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. The session will facilitate the exchange of vital propane safety information, techniques, and experiences among industry responders.
The conference is being sponsored by the Missouri Propane Education and Research Council with support from the Fire Fighters Association of Missouri, the University of Missouri Fire Rescue and Training Institute and the Missouri State Fire Marshal. It will cover the evolution of propane emergencies, propane response, and mitigation strategies, including hands-on, live-fire training. Students will earn 4 hours CEUs for Fire Instructor and 8 hours for Hazardous Materials – Technician toward recertification.
Conference details can be downloaded through MU FRTI and at MissouriPropane.com. There is No Registration Fee for qualified Missouri firefighters and first responders. Additionally, bunk space is available without charge at the State Fair firehouse and all meals will be included.
Attendance is open to anyone involved with propane-related emergency and incident response activities, including propane professionals, fire service and emergency response trainers, towing and recovery professionals, law enforcement, and more.
