FEMA Region VII Grants Division would like to announce two training opportunities for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program at their office in Kansas City. Both trainings will be held in the FEMA Region VII Office, 9221 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, Missouri, 64114. Developing Grant Writing Skills for the AFG Program

- 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This training provides an overview of the AFG Program and an opportunity to learn the AFG Program’s application process in detail. Participants will receive instruction on the fundamentals of identifying organizational gaps and vulnerabilities and linking them to the Program’s highest priorities. Working as a team, participants will engage in a simulated "Peer Review Process" designed to enhance the development of comprehensive, concise, and accurate program narratives.
How to Successfully Manage your AFG Award

- 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
This training will go over the four phases of the grant lifecycle to include: pre-award, award, post-award and closeout. We will review the requirements of each phase of the award life cycle, providing you the necessary skills for successfully managing your AFG award. This course will benefit those currently managing an AFG award as well as those looking forward to managing one in the future.
