Appointment of a New Regional Training Coordinator

Director David E. Hedrick of the University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute (MU FRTI) has announced a new Regional Training Coordinator for the Institute for Region F. Mr. Clinton Hays of Linn, Missouri, is the new Training Coordinator in Region F. Regional Training Coordinator positions are part-time positions within the Institute. MU FRTI is a unit within the Division of Extension at the University and is charged with the responsibility for providing comprehensive continuing education training to Missouri's fire service and emergency response personnel. MU FRTI delivers approximately 190,000 student instructional hours of training each year to firefighters and emergency responders.

Mr. Hays is a firefighter/EMT with the Jefferson City Fire Department, and also previously served with the Linn Fire Protection District as an Assistant Chief and Training Officer from 2005 to 2012. He is certified by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety as a Firefighter I & II, Fire Instructor I, and Fire Investigator. Mr. Hays has an Associate's Degree from Linn State Technical College in Computer Technology. He will be responsible for coordinating MU FRTI training courses and activities in Region F (central Missouri) which includes the counties of Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Camden, Cole, Cooper, Gasconade, Howard, Miller, Moniteau, Montgomery, Morgan, and Osage. Regarding Hays' appointment as a Regional Training Coordinator, MU FRTI Director Hedrick said, "Clinton is a dedicated Fire Service Instructor and we look forward to the skills and experience he brings to the position."

Coordinator Hays will be assuming the duties of the position from MU FRTI Staff Specialist & Field Extension Program Coordinator Gail Hagans-Reynolds. Specialist Hagans-Reynolds has managed Region F duties along with statewide responsibilities for the past several years. Gail will continue to oversee the statewide field extension program and the management of the regional coordinator system.
