Chad Dailey has been employed with the Kansas City Missouri Fire Department since 1991. He has held the rank of Firefighter I and II, EMT, Haz-Mat ops and was promoted to the rank of Company Officer in 2000. He has been the captain of Technical Rescue 9 for the past 15 years. Dailey was a member and instructor, for Missouri Task Force One, the Federal USAR team from 1999 – 2014. Prior to retiring from the task force, he received promotions to Rescue Squad and Safety Officer. He was deployed to New York, City following the attacks on 9/11/2001, and to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and several other natural disasters/incidents during tenure. Dailey is a Missouri State Fire Instructor I and instructor for MU FRTI: Introduction to Technical Rescue (ropes and confined space), Structural Collapse Technician, Trench Collapse Technician, thermal imaging and many other classes. Chad has also been an instructor for Brotherhood Instructors, LLC., since 2010. Teaching Basic Firefighting Principles (forcible entry, RIT, truck-ops, man in machine) and is the co-owner of O’Byrne Fire Ground Training, LLC.

Through the lock forcible entry is one of the most overlooked and under-utilized forcible entry techniques. This technique is often thought to be too slow or too complex for many fireground applications. That is simply not true. Participants will receive background information about Through The Lock tools and procedures while being guided through manipulation of various locks.
