Accidents involving semitrailers and other large vehicles call for specialized knowledge and skills by emergency responders. This workshop is designed for those emergency response personnel who have an interest in or experience in vehicle extrication and wish to expand their awareness. Large Vehicle Rescue: Awareness will provide participants with the insight and information needed when efficiently operating and using tow trucks, rescue struts, cribbing, and airbag systems typically used to lift and stabilize heavy vehicles. Realistic vehicle extrication scenarios will be presented and discussed along with the tactics and strategies that are best suited for the problems associated with these large vehicles.
