Jeff Duckworth is a 28 year veteran of the fire service. Jeff has experience serving as both a volunteer and career firefighter with different agencies including operating as the team leader of a level 1 technical rescue team. Jeff currently serves as a captain/paramedic with Branson Fire and Rescue and as a rescue specialist with the Western Taney County Fire Protection District. Jeff holds numerous certifications with emphasis on technical rescue. Jeff also serves as an adjunct instructor for MU FRTI.

This course addresses NFPA 1041, Standard for Fire Instructor Professional Qualifications, Chapter 4, 2012 edition competencies at the fire service instructor I level. This course focuses on the presentation skills needed by new instructors delivering prepared lesson plans. Students will cover lesson plan preparation, presentation skills, using audiovisual equipment, identifying lesson objectives, questions, tests, and evaluation instruments.


  • This is a self-paced blended learning delivery course. Participants will meet in-person with their laptop on November 2, 2018, for the first day of class and to receive their log-in credentials. The remainder of the class will be instructor-led through an online portal during the seven weeks that follow. This course requires a computer, and reliable internet access.
