Continuing Education Unit (CEU)
  • In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 1 semester hour in fire science or general building construction. As of July 2014, this course is recommended for 1 semester hour in fire science at the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category. (7/14).

American Council on Education (ACE)

The course provides an introduction to basic construction principles and the special characteristics of wood and ordinary construction as they concern the fire service. The primary emphasis is on improving firefighter’s ability to ensure firefighter safety by recognizing common causes and indicators of failure and other hazards related to wood and ordinary construction and it’s contents.
