This course is designed to assist in planning for aircraft incidents or accidents on or off airport property. The audience includes any support agency that would be involved in an aircraft emergency. Throughout the course students will participate in various classroom activities and case studies to reinforce the presented material. Topics include: how to conduct an aircraft accident exercise, airport familiarization, aircraft familiarization, ARFF firefighter safety, extinguishing agents, incident management system operations for aircraft emergencies, airport emergency planning, hazardous materials associated with aircraft operations and handling aircraft emergencies. This course will meet portions of NFPA 405 Standard for Recurring Proficiency of Airport Fire-Fighting Services, (2004 Edition) and 14 CFR Part 139, Certification of Airports.
