Location

Winter Fire School courses and workshops will be conducted on the University of Missouri–Columbia campus. The Equipment Exposition will be located in the Columbia Expo Center at the Holiday Inn Select, February 8, 2008, from 12 noon–9:00 p.m. (See page 19 for further information).


Class Selection

Participants of the 2008 Winter Fire School may select any one (1) 12-hour course or any three (3) four-hour workshops. We will make every effort to enroll you in your first–choice selection(s). However, in the event that your primary choice(s) is full, please choose two (2) alternate selections for each course or workshop selected. Changes in class selection must be made immediately upon receipt of confirmation and are subject to availability. Course numbers are located on the Conference at a Glance page, The 12 hour courses are the 100 level classes and the four hour workshops are the 400 level classes.


Age Disclaimer

Individuals under the age of 16 may not participate in the Winter Fire School. Those 16 and 17 years of age may participate with a written statement of responsibility by an adult department member. This must be filed with our office prior to the school. Contact the Fire and Rescue Training Institute for more information.

Fee

Preregistration is required for the 2008 Winter Fire School. Accepted payment methods include department purchase order, letter of billing authorization on official letterhead, personal check made payable to University of Missouri, and VISA, MasterCard, or Discover credit cards.

• $120.00 if received by January 7, 2008
• $160.00 if received after January 7, 2008
• $60.00 for individual workshop
• $90 Certified Board Training; $75 MAFPD Members

 


Preregistration is required.

Your expenditure for this conference may qualify you for a Lifetime Learning federal tax credit. Please consult with your tax adviser on how this new credit may benefit you.


Billing and Refunds

Invoices will not be sent to individuals. Organizations may be billed for fees if the registration form is accompanied by a purchase order or authorization letter signed by an organization administrator on official letterhead. Billing for all registered participants will be done regardless of attendance. Full refunds will be honored upon written request received prior to January 7, 2008.

Cancellations after January 7, 2008 will be charged a $50.00 processing fee.

No refunds will be given after January 25, 2008

 


Confirmation

Participants who register online will receive an electronic confirmation immediately upon processing registration request. All participants will receive a letter of confirmation and class ticketa via regular mail. Check personal and class information carefully. If all information is correct, bring your letter to the fire school and report directly to your scheduled class. If there are any errors, contact the MU Conference Office as soon as possible. If you have not received confirmation within two (2) weeks of registering for the fire school, please contact the MU Conference Office at

Dress Code

It is each student’s responsibility to use good judgment in selecting attire that projects a professional image while remaining appropriate for climate differences and classroom activities. Acceptable attire at the fire school is business casual or official department uniform.


Webcast

Webcast requirements include: high speed internet connection and windows media player. Fees will consist of a $25 per class single user fee, or a $100 site fee that covers up to 10 seats. All registered participants will receive certificates.
